I had the pleasure of gong out with one of my besties to Oggi’s recently. An afternoon lunch when the kids are in school is one of the best parts of being at home. Oggi’s had just introduced their new Pizzapalooza menu, also featuring the perfect beer pairings, so we decided to try them all. We tried all the pizza’s. (Don’t want you all to know  think I am a day drinker.)


The “Pizzapalooza” menu includes:

  • Fully Loaded Baked Potato Pizza –Enjoy slices of baked potato on homemade pizza dough, topped with Mozzarella and Cheddar cheeses, crispy crumbled bacon and thinly sliced green onions with a sour cream drizzle. Pairs well with the Black Magic Stout.   This was the most suprising of the pizza’s. I did not expect it to be so addicting. My friend and I both found ourselves going back to that pizza and saying WOW! The pizza does not have tomato paste on it. Just a garlic butter wash, then the cheese and the toppings. It was really awesome. I could see this becoming my favorite pizza.

  • Hog Wild Pizza – This meaty specialty pizza features pepperoni, prosciutto, crumbled bacon, garlic olive oil, spinach, and Mozzarella cheese. Topped with Parmesan cheese and thinly sliced green onions, this pizza pairs perfectly with the Tomlinson 21 SIPA. I thought this would be my favorite pizza. I mean how can you go wrong with bacon and prosciutto and pepperoni? And this was a really good pizza. And I would recommend it to anyone who loves pork. It did not pack the surprise factor of the baked potato pizza.


  • Short Rib Pizza – Dine on shredded beef short ribs, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Feta and Mozzarella cheeses atop Oggi’s homemade pizza dough. Pairs well with the McGarvey’s Scottish Ale. The short ribs on this were perfect. super juicy and flavorful. It had that wow surprise when you bit into it.  For me, that bit of the unexpected is what makes the difference between good and GREAT.
  • Polish Pizza –This new signature creation is packed with flavor featuring savory Polish sausage, caramelized onions and Mozzarella cheese on homemade pizza dough. Pairs well with Oggi’s California Gold Blonde Ale.   This was the biggest suprise of all. At first bite it is not at all what you expect from pizza. But the flavors are really wonderful and you find yourself ( or at least I did) going back to it again and again thinking I should not like this but I do..no I think I LOVE it!

One thing about all the pizzas at Oggi’s is the dough. Dough really can make the difference. At Oggi’s they make the dough and let it cure 24 hours before they bake it. That is a commitment to excellence that you can taste.
